FAQ

Questions & answers.

The short version: it's free, and your files never leave your device

Privacy & cost

Is iChangePDF really free?

Yes. It's free to use with no account, no trial, no watermark, and no paid "Pro" tier. We cover costs with unobtrusive ads and keep the editor free for everyone.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. There is no server on the other end to receive your file — when you open a PDF your browser opens it, and when you save, your browser saves it. The document never travels across the internet. You can read the details in our Privacy Policy.

Do I need to create an account or sign in?

No. There's no sign-up, login, or email required. Open a PDF and start editing.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, editing runs entirely in your browser and keeps working without an internet connection.

Editing

What can I change in a PDF?

Quite a lot:

Can I rearrange, rotate, or delete pages?

Yes. Reorder pages by dragging their thumbnails, rotate or delete any page, and add blank pages. There's full undo and redo.

Will my edits match the original formatting?

iChangePDF re-uses the document's own fonts, sizes and layout so edited text blends in with the rest of the page. Where a document's exact embedded font can't be reused, the closest matching font is substituted.

Can I edit a scanned PDF?

If your PDF is a scan or photo, the "text" is actually an image, so it can't be edited as text. You can still add text boxes, highlights, images, or a signature on top of it.

Files & support

Is there a file size limit?

You can open PDF files up to 50 MB.

How do I save my changes?

Click Export PDF to download a fresh copy with your changes — your original file on disk is left untouched. You can also print the edited document straight from the editor.

Which browsers and devices work?

Any modern browser on desktop or mobile — Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox and others. There's no app or extension to install.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Use the contact page. Including the file type and browser you were using helps us reproduce issues quickly.
